Zoffany gets his first Group 1 winner
Ventura Storm landed the Premio Jockey Club on Sunday
Last season's standout European first-season sire Zoffany put a first Group 1 winner on the board on Sunday when his son Ventura Storm landed the Premio Jockey Club at Milan in Italy.
Ventura Storm saw off the locally-trained Pounced colt Full Drago by a neck, with Andrew Balding's Mount Nelson mare Elbereth in third.
Trained by Richard Hannon for Middleham Park Racing, Ventura Storm has been a fine flagbearer for Zoffany, having also won the Group 3 Prix de Reux and two Listed contests and finishing second in the St Leger on his last start.
