Wondermare Zenyatta delivers a filly foal by Medaglia D'Oro
The new arrival is the fifth foal produced by the champion mare

US wondermare Zenyatta delivered a filly foal by leading dual hemisphere stallion Medaglia D'Oro at Will Farish’s Lane’s End Farm in Kentucky on Tuesday evening.
According to Team Zenyatta's website "both mare and filly are in excellent health."
The new arrival is the fifth foal produced by the 13-time Grade 1 heroine, and comes on the back of a few unfortunate years for Zenyatta in the paddocks.
Her 2016 colt by War Front died shortly after his birth due to the complications of meconium aspiration syndrome. She also lost her 2014 filly by the Claiborne Farm resident in a paddock accident.
Since retiring the daughter of Street Cry has produced the placed Ziconic and Cozmic One, who has yet to trouble the judge in two starts for trainer John Shirreffs.
Shirreffs masterminded the career of the outstanding mare for her owners Jerry and Ann Moss. Zenyatta was denied the perfect send off when losing her unbeaten record when going down by a head to Blame in the 2010 Breeders' Cup Classic.
Jerry Moss said he was yet to decide whether or not Zenyatta would be covered in 2017 due to the late arrival of her latest offspring.
