WinStar rejects reports of deal with Coolmore for Justify breeding rights

WinStar Farm has denied that a deal has been struck for the breeding rights of US Triple Crown contender Justify following reports overnight that Coolmore had snapped up the exciting stallion prospect for $60 million.

Being an undefeated son of the late Scat Daddy standing on the brink of history, it is no surprise that some of the biggest names in the global thoroughbred industry are keen to have Justify take his place on their stallion rosters.

According to a report from ESPN on Thursday night, Coolmore had won the big money race but WinStar Farm, who own the colt in partnership with China Horse Club, Head of Plains Partners and Starlight Racing, insisted the focus remains on preparing Justify for his date with destiny in the Belmont Stakes in a fortnight.

"We have had numerous inquiries into the breeding rights, including from Coolmore," said the statement.

"Nothing is finalised at this time and won't be in the foreseeable future. We are focused on the Belmont Stakes and his racing career at this time."
