With the genes of two champions in Frankel and Zakarva, the Aga Khan homebred Zarkamiya made the perfect start to her career when running out a cosy winner of a fillies maiden at Longchamp on Thursday.

The Alain De Royer-Dupre-trained filly is the sixth foal out of the Zamindar mare Zarkava and the second to hit the track after Grand Prix de Paris hero Zarak - a son of Dubawi who kicked off his stallion career at Haras de Bonneval this year.

An outstanding performer, Zarkava's illustrious career saw her land four victories at the highest level including the Prix de Diane and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. She is also the dam of a two-year-old Invincible Spirit colt, a yearling filly by Siyouni and recently delivered a colt by Sea The Stars. She is set to make a return to Dalham Hall Stud to be covered by Darley's flagship sire Dubawi.

Zarkamiya is by Juddmonte's dual world champion Frankel and with entries in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, Prix Saint-Alary and Prix de Diane, the dream is very much alive for all involved with her.
