Vik The Billy provides Bated Breath with a first stakes winner

Son of Dansili stands at Banstead Manor Stud

Bated Breath supplied the first stakes winner of his stud career on Sunday when his two-year-old daughter Vik The Billy landed the Listed Premio Perrone in Rome.

The filly is the sixth foal out of the winning Zafonic mare Epiphany and is a half-sister to five winners, including Agerzam, Idder and Zakiy. Her further family includes Madame Dubois, the dam of Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Indian Haven.

She was picked up by New Racing Factory as a yearling from Houghton Bloodstock for just £4,000 at last year's Goffs UK Silver Sale.

Bated Breath, a ten-year-old son of Dansili who stands at Banstead Manor Stud, was trained by Roger Charlton to win the Group 2 Temple Stakes and the Listed Leisure Stakes. He also finished in the frame on five occasions in contests at the highest level.

His oldest crop are currently three, and among the other leading performers he has sired since retiring to stud are the Group-placed trio Al Johrah, Take A Deep Breath and Unabated.
