Falls Of Lora was a high-class racemare and the early signs are she could replicate her talent at paddocks.

Cascadian, the New Approach colt who is the first foal out of the eight-year-old daughter of Street Cry, won the 7f Prix Thimecourt for unraced juvenile colts and geldings at Chantilly on Sunday.

Trained by Andre Fabre and ridden by Mickael Barzalona, Cascadian powered four and a half lengths clear of the Pia Brandt-trained Le Havre colt Baillolet in second.

Falls Of Lora won four of her 19 starts headed by the Group 3 UAE Oaks and Listed Coral Distaff for trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni.

She is a half-sister to six winners including Listed winner and St James's Palace Stakes second Latharnach and German Listed scorer Etive.

The siblings are out of the French Listed winner and Classic-placed Firth Of Lorne, who in turn is out of the Group 3 winner Kerrera, runner-up to Musical Bliss in the 1,000 Guineas in 1989.

Falls Of Lora has also produced a yearling brother to Cascadian and a Dubawi colt foal.

German Listed winner Majestic Jasmine was bred on the same cross as Cascadian.

Cascadian holds an early entry to next year's Derby, a race his sire won in 2008.
