Time is running out for breeders to register foals for the Plus 10 bonus scheme.

The foal registration of £150 must be paid by August 31 in order for a foal to be registered for the scheme and to have the opportunity to win a £10,000 bonus once it commences racing.

Plus 10 is an owner and breeder incentive scheme that pays £10,000 bonuses on top of prize money across about 600 two and three-year-old races in Britain and Ireland.

The scheme expands in 2017, with the addition of around 30 three-year-old Class 5 Maiden races over 11f+, providing a significant increase in opportunities for colts within the scheme.

Breeders who register a foal for Plus 10 are guaranteed a £1,000 bonus if that horse goes on to win a Plus 10 race, even if subsequent registration payments are not made.

Any horse paid up to the foal registration stage will be flagged as Plus 10 on individual pedigree pages within sales catalogues, providing a marketing advantage in the sales ring.

To register foals, breeders must complete a registration form and pay the Foal Registration of £150 per foal by August 31. Forms that are postal date-stamped by that date will be accepted.
