Group 3-winning sprinter Strath Burn has been retired from racing and will take up stud duties at Bridge House Stud in County Westmeath next year under the Compas Stallions banner run by Micheal Orlandi.

The four-year-old son of Equiano is out of the winning Irish River mare Irish Light and is a half-brother to several winners including the Group 1-placed Polar Force and the Listed-placed Carnival Queen.

Under the care of Charlie Hills, he finished second in both the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin and the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes as a two-year-old.
