Kartica, a mare whose first foal is this year’s Coronation Stakes and Prix Rothschild heroine Qemah, has been sold to Teruya Yoshida’s Shadai Farm in Japan in a deal brokered by Yoshida's adviser Patrick Barbe.
The nine-year-old daughter of Rainbow Quest won a 1m conditions race at Longchamp at two and finished third in the Group 3 Prix Fille d’Air for trainer Philippe Demercastel.
At the end of her racing career she was bought by Pierre Talvard of Haras du Cadran for €120,000 at the Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale in 2011.
