Postponed's half-sister a third stakes winner for Nathaniel
God Given joins dual Oaks heroine Enable and Natavia
God Given, a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Postponed, became the third stakes winner for second-season sire Nathaniel at Newmarket on Saturday.
If not quite ranking with the endeavours of dual Oaks heroine Enable, God Given's win in the 1m4f Listed Aphrodite Stakes is yet another boost to Nathaniel.
In the spring Natavia was an impressive win in of a Listed race at Newbury, albeit she failed to deliver on that promise when last of nine to Enable in the Oaks.
Trained by Luca Cumani and ridden by George Wood, God Given was a length to the good of Lope De Vega filly Isabel De Urbina at the line.
Bred and retained to race by St Albans Bloodstock, God Given is the fourth foal out of Ever Rigg, a winning Dubai Destination mare who also has a two-year-old Makfi colt and a yearling Dubawi colt. Postponed himself, recently retired, was paraded with the Darley stallions at the recent annual stallion parade at Dalham Hall.
Ever Rigg's dam is the 1996 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Bianca Nera, and they hail from the further family of Pattern winners Bondi Beach and Gale Force Ten.
Nathaniel defeated his elders at three in the 2011 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, and followed up in the Eclipse the following year.
The son of Galileo has stood the past four seasons at Newsells Park Stud, currently commanding a fee of £17,500.
