Perfect introduction for Plumatic as he wins on his debut

The regally bred Plumatic made a highly promising start to his career at Saint-Cloud on Thursday, cruising to success in the Prix Avenger, a 1m2½f maiden for three-year-old colts and geldings.

The three-year-old son of Dubawi travelled well as the field turned for home and, once asked to take the lead, pulled clear to win under hands and heels.

His handler, Andre Fabre, knows the colt's family well as he trained his dam Plumania to win the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. The Anabaa mare has now produced three winners from three runners since retiring to the paddocks. Plumatic is a half-brother to the Listed-winning Maniaco and maiden scorer Solilea.

Homebred by the Wertheimer brothers, Plumania is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Balladeuse - who in turn is the dam of last year's Prix Vermeille heroine Left Hand. Further back it is the family of Groom Dancer and Poule d'Essai des Poulains scorer Falco.

Fabre also won the Listed Prix Francois Mathet with Soleil Marin - who also happens to be from the family of Falco. The three-year-old is a son of Haras de Colleville's Kendargent, bred by Ecurie Peregrine out of the Montjeu mare Sousmarine.

Plumatic's sire Dubawi also supplied the winner of a maiden on the card in Indian Skies, trained by Henri-Alex Pantall.
