New boys Ajaya and Kodi Bear have first mares scanned in foal

Rathbarry Stud's new recruits Ajaya and Kodi Bear have both got off the mark in the early days of their stallion careers with mares scanned in foal to them.

Pregnant to Ajaya are Carpet Lady, a daughter of Night Shift who is a prolific producer of winners, including Listed scorer Cake, and New Deal, a daughter of Rainbow Quest who is the dam of multiple winners including Alrasm, who achieved a Racing Post Rating of 105.

Those in foal to Kodi Bear include a Bated Breath half-sister to Tiggy Wiggy from Ballyphilip Stud; Divert, a daughter of Averti who is the dam of four winners including Listed-placed Reroute from Carrigbeg Stud; and Shortmile Lady, an Arcano half-sister to classy sprinter Indian Maiden from Yellowford Farm.

Ajaya and Kodi Bear are sons of two half-brothers who rank as among the most commercially desirable sires of sires of the day.

Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya is by Invincible Spirit, who has also supplied Classic sire Lawman, Australian sire sensation I Am Invincible, promising sophomore sire Mayson and the well supported top-class milers Charm Spirit and Kingman.

Kodi Bear, a high-class miler who was runner-up in the Dewhurst at two, is one of four sons of Kodiac new to the stallion ranks this year, alongside Adaay, Coulsty and Prince Of Lir.
