Morandi to stand at Haras du Mont Goubert in 2017
The son of Holy Roman Emperor will stand alongside Triple Threat
Haras du Mont Goubert near Deauville, traditionally a base for trotters, will add Morandi to its stallion ranks next year at a fee of €3,000.
Bred by Eric Puerari and Oceanic Bloodstock, Morandi is a half-brother to Vita, a Listed-placed mare in Italy, and two other winners.
Morandi is out of the Bering mare Vezina, who placed three times in France, out of Marie De Vez, the granddam of the Group 2 Prix d'Harcourt winner Ana Marie and the Breeders' Cup Mile runner-up Charmo.
Morandi was originally trained by Jean-Claude Rouget and ran carrying the colours of Daniel Yves-Treves, for whom he won the Criterium de Saint-Cloud and the Group 3 Prix du Conde in his juvenile campaign.
He continued to run well at three finishing runner-up in the Prix du Jockey Club behind Intello, and again runner-up to Intello in the Group 3 Prix du Prince d'Orange.
Morandi will stand alongside Triple Threat who will also stand at a fee of €3,000.
