Lucky 13 for Frankel as Eminent makes winning debut
Colt lands the mile maiden at Newmarket on Thursday
With a classy performance to surge past his rivals, the Martyn Meade-trained Eminent became the latest winner for freshman sire Frankel when taking out the mile maiden at Newmarket on Thursday.
The juvenile colt hit the front as the race entered the closing stages, and while Alqamar briefly mounted a challenge Eminent pulled clear to win by two and three-quarter lengths.
The second foal out of the winning and Group 1-placed Kingmambo mare You'll Be Mine, Eminent was bred by Premier Bloodstock. His dam is a half-sister to Group 1 heroine Diamondsandrubies and further back on his page is Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Yesterday.
