Plusvital, the Irish equine science company, has released four new tests including the Elite Performance Test v3.0 which claims to identify the highest genetic potential for elite breeding and racecourse success.

Having acquired the genomics company Equinome in December 2015, the new test includes a genomic breeding value to determine the potential of a broodmare or stallion to produce offspring with higher potential and a genomic inbreeding value to evaluate the level of inbreeding in a thoroughbred.

Also launched are the Dirt v Turf v1.0 test which indicates genetic affinity of an individual horse for achieving best win on dirt or turf surfaces and Distance Plus v1.0, a tool designed to refine the optimum race distance for a horse to separate them into short or long CC, CT and TT.
