Focus to switch to geldings at Cheltenham April Sale on Thursday
Catalogued are four wildcards rated 90 or higher
While the card at Cheltenham on Thursday is unique in that it is made up of races confined to fillies and mares, it may be the geldings grabbing the headlines when they come under the hammer after racing.
The Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham April Sale, which starts at 6.15pm, has been enhanced by the addition of 14 quality wildcard entries bringing the total number of lots on offer to 40.
Prince Kayf and wildcard entry Thatsy saw each of their sire's names in lights last week, with Kayf Tara the sire of Ryanair Stayers Hurdle winner Identity Thief and the latter's sire Martaline responsible for a brace of Grade 1 scorers in We Have A Dream and Terrefort.
Both are entitled to sell well - Monbeg Stables consigns Thatsy, a three-length winner on his Lingstown debut last month and second on his next start, while Josh Ryan offers Prince Kayf, who grinded out victory over Kiltealy Briggs at Inch.
Ciaran Murphy's Charlestown Stables will offer the 93-rated Donjon, who won two points in recent weeks and looks open to further improvement.
The five-year-old gelding is by Caballo Raptor, a 22-year-old son of Quest For Fame who sired Monday's 18-length Kelso novice hurdle winner Calix Delafayette.
Cheltenham Festival-winning trained Patrick Kelly offers the 91-rated Warendorf, a five-year-old son of Speedmaster, who himself is a 21-year-old son of Monsun and sire of German Group 3 winner Karsabruni on the Flat.
It won't be all about the boys, however, with Meep Meep - who went from winning a Chepstow bumper to finishing fourth to Getaway Katie Mai in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree - being sold by Tom Lacey.
