Fasig-Tipton to auction dual Grade 1 heroine Catch A Glimpse
Daughter of City Zip to go under the hammer in November
Dual Grade 1 heroine Catch A Glimpse is sure to cause fireworks when she goes on offer at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale this year.
The four-year-old daughter of City Zip, trained by Mark Casse, is being put on the market by owners Gary Barber, Michael James Ambler and Windways Farm.
She landed the Grade 2 Natalma Stakes at Woodbine by five lengths and took the notable scalp of Alice Springs to land the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Keeneland at two.
In the following season she swept five Graded races between a mile and ten furlongs – the Herecomesthebride Stakes, Appalachian Stakes, Edgewood Stakes, Penn Mile and Belmont Oaks.
This year Catch A Glimpse has finished second in the Sand Spring Stakes, eighth in the Jenny Wiley Stakes and collapsed due to a combination of heat stroke and bleeding on her last start in the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes.
The filly will be consigned to Fasig-Tipton by Bluewater Sales as a racing or broodmare prospect.
"Catch A Glimpse is a remarkable filly and a true collector's item," said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. "It's rare that a filly of her accomplishments is offered at public auction, and we are excited to showcase her at our November sale in Lexington on November 6."
Catch A Glimpse was bred by Branch Equine out of the stakes-winning Irish River mare Halo River, making her a half-sister to Grade 3 scorer Old Forester. She hails from the family of champion Forest Flower.
