Mehmas will take up stallion duties at Tally-Ho Stud in County Westmeath next year after the operation purchased a 50 per cent share in the Al Shaqab-owned colt.

He is likely to have his last race in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on September 24.

A dual Group 2-winning son of Acclamation trained by Richard Hannon, Mehmas was bred by Epona Bloodstock out of the unraced Machiavellian mare Lucina and was snapped up by Peter and Ross Doyle for 170,000gns at this year's Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale.
