Dual Group 1 heroine Mecca's Angel, whose retirement from racing was confirmed on Monday, has been sold to start her career as a broodmare.

The deal was brokered privately by Tom Goff of Blandford Bloodstock but he could not confirm the identity of her purchaser.

Her trainer Michael Dods did reveal that she is set to visit Coolmore's perennial champion sire Galileo.
