Overbury Stud's Delegator became the latest freshman sire to post his first stakes winner as Delectation ran out a comfortable winner of the Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes at Ayr on Saturday.

The Bryan Smart-trained filly still displayed signs of inexperience in the early stages of the race but, having made good headway two furlongs out, led entering the final furlong and ran on strongly to defeat Rosebride by two and three quarter lengths.

Bred by Crossfields Bloodstock, she is a half-sister to 1m2f winner Monsieur Glory and the 7f winner Emblaze. Her dam, the Pivotal mare Chushka, was also a 6f winner for Smart and Crossfields before retiring to the paddocks.
