Climax Stallions adds Uncle Mo half-brother to roster
Editorial has finished first and second in two career starts
Editorial - a three-year-old half-brother to Uncle Mo, the leading third-season sire in the US by earnings - has been acquired by Climax Stallions and will join their stallion roster for the 2018 breeding season.
The stud location and fee for Editorial will be announced at a later date.
Trained by Todd Pletcher for the Coolmore partners, Editorial retires having finished first and second in two career starts. His victory came in a 7f maiden special weight at Gulfstream Park on turf in mid-June.
"We are very excited for the opportunity to stand Editorial at stud as he fits our programme perfectly," Sean Feld, managing director of Climax Stallions, told the Blood-Horse.
"Under the care of Todd Pletcher for Coolmore, Editorial displayed an impressive turn of foot, which you always look for in a top sire. He has a phenomenal pedigree and the looks to match. He should thrive in the breeding shed."
Editorial is a son of War Front out of the Arch mare Playa Maya, also the dam of a two-year-old sister to Editorial named Could It Be Love, who has shown promise in three starts for Aidan O'Brien, and a War Front yearling filly who went unsold for $1.25 million as a foal at Keeneland last November.
Editorial will join Bullet Train, a three-parts brother to Frankel, and Curlin To Mischief, a half brother to Grade 1 winner and sire Into Mischief and champion Beholder, on the Climax roster.
