Classic clues aplenty as crack three-year-olds prepare for battle in France

After the hysteria surrounding Tiger Roll's Randox Health Grand National victory on Saturday, attention turns to France on Sunday, with the recently re-opened Longchamp set to stage a pair of intriguing Classic trials.

First it is the turn of the colts in the Prix de Fontainebleau. There may only be a small field, but this looks a race to savour, with the exciting Olmedo taking on the unbeaten Wootton, the blue-blooded Rostropovich and the unexposed Mind Mapping.

A little over an hour later it is the turn of the fillies, with Mission Impassible and Magical, who finished third and fourth respectively in last year's Prix Marcel Boussac, set to renew their rivalry.

Final thought

Previous renewals of the Group 3 Prix de Fontainebleau have been won by the likes of Poule d'Essai des Poulains and Prix du Jockey Club hero Brametot, 2,000 Guineas runner-up and Prix Jean Prat winner Territories, and the two-time Group 1-winning miler Tamayuz.

Could we see a future star among the five-strong line-up contesting today's running? Either way, it will be well worth having your notebook at the ready.
