Newsells Park Stud's Nathaniel added another stakes-winning filly to his flourishing stud record as Perfect Clarity maintained her unbeaten status with a tough victory in the Listed Betfred Mobile Oaks Trial Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday.

The Clive Cox-trained three-year-old is one of seven stakes winners sired by Nathaniel, a roll of honour that is, of course, headed by the mighty Enable, who's own Oaks victory kicked off a run of five straight Group 1 victories that also took in the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks, the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Perfect Clarity was bred by Bluehills Racing Limited and is the third foal out of the Listed-placed Shamardal mare Clarietta, whose three runners have all now gained black type.

Her first foal is the Listed-placed Clarentine, a daughter of Dalakhani, while her second foal, the Lawman colt Law Power, landed a Listed race over 1m2f at Capannelle last month.

Clarietta also has a two-year-old Nathaniel sister to Saturday's winner.

Perfect Clarity is not the only Lingfield Oaks Trial winner in the family, as her dam is a half-sister to Cassydora who landed the race in 2005.

Cassydora was well beaten into seventh behind Eswarah in the Oaks itself, but later went on to win a Grade 3 in the US and has also proved herself a smart broodmare. Since retiring to the paddocks she has produced triple Group 3 winner Ernest Hemingway and the Group 3-winning Frankel filly Toulifaut, who was sold to Katsumi Yoshida for €1.9 million at the 2016 Arqana Arc Sale.

Many of Perfect Clarity's relatives have shown their best form at around 1m2f or shorter, but Ernest Hemingway - who is by Galileo, the sire of Nathaniel - achieved his peak Racing Post Rating of 116 over 1m4f and 1m6f.

And given that several of Nathaniel's headline performers, such as Enable, Face The Facts and God Given, have all stayed at least 1m4f, Perfect Clarity seems unlikely to come up short for stamina if she takes her chance at Epsom.

Moreover, Shamardal has already achieved Classic success as a broodmare sire, with Irish 2,000 Guineas hero Awtaad being out of his daughter Asheerah.

Despite her considerable talent and strong family ties, Perfect Clarity cost just 30,000gns when signed for as a yearling by Martin Percival's Boyce Bloodstock at Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
