Horses in training spearhead upcoming mixed online sale from Tattersalls
Bidding opens at noon on Tuesday and closes from midday on Wednesday
The catalogue for the Tattersalls Online September Sale has been published. The sale, which takes place on September 13-14, has attracted 31 entries and is headlined by 21 horses in training, supported by a selection of breeding rights, fillies and mares, stores and yearlings.
The catalogue is highlighted by four-time winner Wonder Elzaam, who has been placed fourth in the Group 3 Gladness Stakes and the Listed Tetrarch Stakes. Also set to feature is recent last-start winner Eloso, consigned by Gay Kelleway. The four-year-old daughter of Kodi Bear has won three times and has been placed on eight occasions.
Another entry to spark interest is the lightly raced National Hunt prospect Jipekaa Machin, who has placed third on his only two starts for French trainer Hugo Merienne, his most recent performance coming over hurdles at Dieppe.
Notable fillies in the sale include the Rae Guest-consigned duo Jubilee Dancer, an unraced two-year-old filly by Decorated Knight, out of a full-sister to champion two-year-old and sire Mastercraftsman and winning three-year-old filly Days Like This, a half-sister to American Stakes winner Natural Colour, from the family of Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Sagamix, and champion three-year-old and multiple Group 1 winner Japan.
The online sale has attracted breeding rights to exciting young sires Profitable, Territories, Aclaim and Ribchester. Profitable is already the sire of Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes winner Quick Suzy and Group 2 Prix du Calvados winner Wed.
A breeding right to Territories, a son of Invincible Spirit, will also be offered. He is the sire of the Group 1 Prix de l’Opera winner Rougir as well as the Derby runner-up and Melbourne Cup hopeful Hoo Yal Mal.
Aclaim is already the sire of 1,000 Guineas winner Cachet as well as Listed winner and promising three-year-old Royal Aclaim. Ribchester has also had an exciting start to his stud career including Group 1-placed Flaming Rib, and Listed winners Facteur Cheval, Ruthin and Snooze N You Lose.
Mares on offer include Lady Fatma, offered with a cover to Arizona, the Coventry Stakes-winning son of No Nay Never, and Miss Austen, a daughter of Fame And Glory in foal to Schiaparelli. Alison Hyde will offer a pair of unbroken fillies by Telescope and Dartmouth, and the sale has attracted entries from trainers Tom Clover, Ed Dunlop, Gordon Elliot, Jessica Harrington, Richard O’Brien and Sean Woods.
Recent success of Tattersalls Online graduates includes the Tony Mullins-trained Rotten Row, and Meaningful Star, who has won on two occasions at Happy Valley for trainer Francis Lui since being purchased on the platform.
Wildcard entries will be accepted until 5pm today (Thursday) and details of all available lots, including photos, videos and veterinary information, can be found at www.tattersallsonline.com.
Bidding on the sale commences from 12pm on Tuesday, with the sale closing from 12pm on Wednesday. Prospective purchasers are encouraged to register to bid in anticipation of the sale, subject to approval by the Tattersalls accounts team.
