Dual Group 2 winner and Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr Preis runner-up Amazing Grace is another high-class signing for the Arqana Vente d’Elevage, a sale that takes place in Deauville from December 3-6.

The daughter of Protectionist, who will be offered on the Saturday of the showpiece auction, is a homebred of Christoph Berglar and was Group-placed at two before taking the Group 2 Diana Trial as a three-year-old.

At four, Amazing Grace finished third in the Group 3 Prix Allez France and Group 2 Prix Corrida before a Listed strike in the 170 Jahre Hamburger Renn-Club in June. A fine second to Deutsches Derby hero Sammarco in the Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr Preis was followed by a win in the Group 2 Zastrow Stutenpreis at Baden-Baden.

She was most recently third to Rebel's Romance in the Group 1 Preis von Europa at Cologne.

Out of the Listed-winning Danehill Dancer mare Amabelle, she is a granddaughter of dual Group 2 winner Annaba and from the family of Derby and King George hero Adayar and Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere scorer National Defense.

Amazing Grace will be offered by Ronald Rauscher, who said of the filly: "As the racing manager, I have been lucky enough to look after Amazing Grace since she was born. She is one of those fillies that takes your heart and makes you believe in her from day one. I always thought she was full of potential, and she has never let me down.

"Very consistent, she came better with age to have her best season this year. She’s finished second to Sammarco, the winner of the German Derby, showing us just how talented she is and that she could give him a run for his money.

He continued: "I think she is a perfect example of the best of German breeding. Her sire is a German stallion, and comes from a wonderful Gestüt Röttgen familly, one of the pillars of which is Anna Paola, who is at the origin of one of Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum’s most prestigious lines as well as many other breeders."
