Group 1 winner Unfortunately's first foal is born at Batsford Stud
A first foal sired by Group 1 winner Unfortunately arrived last week when a chestnut colt out of John Gallagher’s multiple winner Heartsong was born at Batsford Stud.
Unfortunately, the son of Society Rock who was trained by Karl Burke, took both the Group 1 Prix Morny and the Prix Robert Papin in 2017, leading to him being crowned champion two-year-old colt in France.
Kept in training at three, he swept to success in the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes at Naas and retired to Cheveley Park Stud to receive a quality first book of mares.
They included a three-parts sister to the dam of Advertise, a half-sister to top juvenile Golden Horde and the dam of Group 2 winners, Penitent and Supplicant.
Unfortunately has moved to stand in County Tipperary in 2020 in a partnership between Cheveley Park and Oak Lodge/Springfield House Stud.
