La Petite Coco is yet another top-level-winning filly set to be offered at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale's new Sceptre Session on November 29.

The daughter of Ruler Of The World has won five of her ten starts, latterly for Paddy Twomey and Team Valor, including when providing her trainer with a maiden Group 1 success in the Curragh's Pretty Polly Stakes in June.

Now a four-year-old, the popular La Petite Coco took second place in the Naas Oaks Trial and claimed a first Group success in the Give Thanks Stakes at Cork before causing an upset by heading dual Classic winner Love in the Blandford Stakes last September.

This year she showed her characteristic toughness with success in the Pretty Polly Stakes, while her last two starts saw her finish third to Alpinista in the Yorkshire Oaks and then fourth to Above The Curve back in the Blanford.

Bred in Ireland by Bernd and Ute Schone, La Petite Coco comes from the third crop of the 2013 Derby winner and is out of the unraced Konigstiger mare La Petite Virginia, a half-sister to German Derby winner Lavirco in addition to German Group scorers Laveron and Lyonels Glory.

Her great granddam, La Dorada, was the highest rated German two-year-old filly of her generation and is also the granddam of German champion Lomitas.

Twomey said: "La Petite Coco will always be special to me and the team at Athassel House as our first Group 1 winner. She is a hugely talented filly and has beaten some very smart fillies in the course of her career, not least dual Classic winner Love, when she won the Group 2 Blandford Stakes last year. She has all the qualities you want in a race filly and a broodmare.

"She is a good looking filly with a wonderful temperament and a huge pedigree, and she tries her heart out every time she runs.”

Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony added: "The Team Valor owned La Petite Coco is another wonderful Group 1-winning filly coming to this year’s Tattersalls December Sale.

"Similar to Alcohol Free and Saffron Beach, she combines outstanding ability with looks and pedigree and she will be another highlight of our new Sceptre Sessions which are already shaping up to be a bit special."
