Group 1 star Nathaniel kept at £15,000 ahead of "big year"
New boy Without Parole will stand for £8,000 in 2022
Newsells Park Stud has maintained the fee of Nathaniel at £15,000 for 2022 while making a minor adjustment for its younger resident Without Parole.
Stood with owner-breeders John and Tanya Gunther, the St James's Palace Stakes winner and son of Frankel has finished his first season at the Hertfordshire nursery and will be priced at £8,000, from an opening £10,000.
Newsells Park general manager, Julian Dollar said: "Once again Nathaniel has proven himself as one of the best and most reliable sources of middle-distance horses in Europe.
"With 20 Group 1 and 2 horses and over 50 Group/stakes horses to his name, Nathaniel is the sire of five Group 1 winners, including three from a remarkable third crop, which includes the outstanding Nassau Stakes victress, Lady Bowthorpe and E.P. Taylor winner, Mutamakina in 2021.
"Added to these Group 1 winners, Nathaniel also produced dual Group 2 winner, Bubble Gift, as well as Group winner, Spirit Ridge, who has made a considerable impression down under together with multiple Group placed, Floating Artist, who was placed in the Melbourne Cup just last week.
“Nathaniel’s stock has shown they act on all types of going and the all-weather, which is undoubtedly why his stock continue to be in such demand both domestically and internationally, as yearlings and also horses in training, giving owners and breeders significant residual value.
"Nathaniel now has an exceptional crop of two-year-olds and yearlings coming through, following the initial success of Enable from his first crop. We are looking forward to a big year for him in 2022."
On his newer student, Dollar continued: "Without Parole has let down into an absolutely stunning individual and as an emphatic winner of the Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes, with an outstanding pedigree he is an extremely attractive stallion, even without the small fact that he is by Europe’s champion sire-elect, Frankel.
"Frankel is proving as much a phenomenon as a sire as he was as a racehorse. [With] 20 Group 1 winners already, including 2 Derby winners, an Oaks winner and three Group 1 winning two-year-olds in 2021. He tops Europe’s general sire list by over £2 million and has an incredible 11 per cent Group winners to runners and nearly 16% black type winners to runners.
“As his best miler, Without Parole offers breeders a fantastic opportunity to breed to a son of one of the world’s greatest stallions at just a fraction of his fee! He was very well supported in his first year and once again, both Newsells Park Stud and his breeders, John and Tanya Gunther will be supporting him with quality mares in 2022."
