Great expectations: new Black Caviar foal the 'most like mum'
The legendary Black Caviar has given birth to a filly who is already showing signs she is "most like mum" of the star sprinter's five foals.
The daughter of I Am Invincible is Black Caviar's fourth filly and third in row and came as an exciting surprise to her owners.
"At around 1am on Monday morning Black Caviar gave birth to a filly and everything is perfect," a happy Neil Werrett told Racing.com on Monday.
"The foal is good, she is running around and drinking and she's doing it so easily.
"We were expecting a colt to be honest, there were no complications, and everyone is happy.
"The filly is a bay and she is probably the most like mum [in comparison to her other progeny], she's the largest and the leggiest.
"And Black Caviar is taking to it perfectly as she always does."

The I Am Invincible filly is bound to garner the same widespread attention as her sisters and brother have had.
Black Caviar's progeny include the now-retired Oscietra who won two races from five starts, Prince of Caviar who is still in training with the Hawkes stable and recently broke his maiden, an unraced two-year-old filly by Snitzel and a yearling filly by More Than Ready.
