Goffs UK announce the 175 names listed for Silver Yearling Sale

Hot on the heels of the publication of its Premier Yearling Sale catalogue, Goffs UK has announced the 175 youngsters listed for the Silver Yearling Sale on August 29.

Graduates from the Doncaster event have succeeded far and wide, with The Mackem Bullet (a £9,000 transfer) taking second in the Cheveley Park and landing the Grade 2 Appalachian Stakes at Keeneland for Wesley Ward and Katsumi Yoshida, while Simply Breathless was successful in the Grade 3 Wilshire Stakes at Santa Anita.

Even further afield, Flying Thunder has won the Group 3 Premier Cup at Sha Tin and Urban Beat has taken the Listed Woodlands Stakes in Ireland.

Highlights from the run-down include an Adaay colt out of the Listed winner and Grade 3-placed mare Onlyyouknowme (lot 472), a Night Of Thunder half-brother to the Listed winner and Grade 2-placed Green Rock (484), a Bobby’s Kitten half-brother to the Grade 2 winner Automated (490).

There is also a Bated Breath filly out of the Grade 2-placed Sans Reward and from the family of the marvellous multiple Group 1 winner Islington (497).

Even further afield, Flying Thunder has won the Group 3 Premier Cup at Sha Tin and Urban Beat has taken the Listed Woodlands Stakes in Ireland.

Other sires to feature include Brazen Beau, Cable Bay, Dutch Art, Equiano, Gutaifan, Havana Gold, Hot Streak, Ivawood, Mastercraftsman, Mayson, Olympic Glory, Outstrip, Slade Power, Tagula and Zebedee.

Goffs UK managing director Tony Williams said: "Every year the Silver Sale produces some very smart horses and 2019 has been no different having enjoyed Stakes winners in America, Hong Kong and Ireland thus far this season.

"Each year we see more buyers stay after the Premier Sale for the Silver Sale the following day and last year was one of the best in terms of attendance with a number of major owners, trainers and agents onsite which led to vendors supporting the sale with a stronger selection this year."
