Stars of the jumping scene headline annual Gigginstown dispersal

Thunder And Roses - the first of three Irish National winners in the past four years for Gigginstown House Stud - will be joined by Gold Cup third Road To Riches as part of a 38-strong draft for the operation at the Goffs UK September Horses In Training Sale at Doncaster on Wednesday, September 19.

Gigginstown have captured four of the last five runnings of the Galway Plate, beginning with the Noel Meade-trained Road To Riches in 2014, and will also offer the 2016 winner Lord Scoundrel - the first winner of the race for Gordon Elliott - as part of its consignment.

The nine-year-old Kayf Tara gelding Lieutenant Colonel, also currently in the care of Elliott, is also likely to be of interest to buyers, having annexed the Hatton's Grace Hurdle and Christmas Hurdle, both Grade 1 races, when trained by Sandra Hughes during the 2014-15 season.

Milsean, who almost caused a 33-1 upset in the 2015 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle when a half-length second to Martello Tower, is another who makes plenty of appeal on paper.

Folsom Blue - who was sold to Aidan O'Ryan for £21,000 at last year's dispersal - went on to land the Grand National Trial at Punchestown and was promoted to fourth in the main event when hampered badly at the last by the wayward Bellshill.

A total of 288 horses are catalogued for the sale, which also features a large number of other promising winners in the Flat and jumps spheres.

Goffs UK managing director Tony Williams said: “We have been well supported by owners and trainers from throughout the UK and Ireland, and the sale looks well poised to continue what has been an excellent run of form by Doncaster horses-in-training graduates on the track – headed by the likes of Tiger Roll.

“The Gigginstown House Stud annual dispersal is always a big attraction and will offer a number of horses that will be familiar to most following their exploits on the track.

"Every year the draft produces horses that go on to win big races, such as Folsom Blue, who was sold at last year’s sale and has since won over €100,000 for his new owners.”
