Future stars to shine on Newmarket's juvenile card
Siblings to Derby and Group 1 winners set to take next steps on Wednesday
Newmarket's eight-race card on Wednesday is devoted to two-year-olds, with the British Stallion Studs EBF Future Stayers Novice Stakes (4.45) previously won by luminaries such as Hurricane Lane and Cracksman.
The mile event, which also featured the brilliant Stradivarius when Cracksman struck in 2016, sees 11 runners line up in a bid to emulate the European and world champion as well as last year's St Leger, Irish Derby and Grand Prix de Paris scorer Hurricane Lane.
Eyecatchers include the very well-related pair of Military Order and Rebel Red, who made promising debuts at Newmarket and Salisbury respectively.
The Godolphin-bred Military Order is out of Group 3 winner and Irish 1,000 Guineas second Anna Salai, making him a full-brother to last term's Derby and King George hero Adayar, recently a fine second in the Champion Stakes.
Rebel Red, a homebred of John and Tanya Gunther, is a full-brother to St James's Palace Stakes winner and Newsells Park Stud sire Without Parole, and a half-brother to Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Tamarkuz.
Other notable runners are Godolphin's debutant Ancient Rules, a son of Lope De Vega and the Dubawi mare Carriwitchet, a half-sister to top-level winners Jakkalberry, Crackerjack King and Awelmarduk; Serengeti Sunset, a son of Roaring Lion out of a Galileo full-sister to the Group 1-placed Proud And Regal and Group 3 winner Mekong River, and Lose Your Wad, by Muhaarar and out of a Galileo half-sister to 1,000 Guineas winner Miss France.
The Stephen Rowley Remembered Novice Stakes (2.25) includes two one-raced and regally bred individuals in Greek Order and Regal Honour.
Greek Order is a Juddmonte homebred and a Kingman full-brother to Hampton Court Stakes scorer Sangarius, while Regal Honour, bred by Roundhill Stud, is a Dubawi half-brother to Coronation Stakes and Moyglare Stud Stakes victress Rizeena and Group 2 scorer Summer Romance.
Division one of the Discover Newmarket Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes (1.20) will see Andrew Balding take the wraps off Hopeful, a homebred of Prince Faisal and a Make Believe half-sister to Listed scorer and 2,000 Guineas fourth Eydon. She is out of the Frankel mare Moon Mountain and from the family of Group 2 winner Hydro Calido.
The second division (1.55) includes Newsells Park Stud homebred Rubina Rose, by the operation's stalwart stallion Nathaniel and out of a half-sister to Group 2 winner Pallasator.
