Freshman stallion Brazen Beau claims Listed victory in Italy
Darley shuttler was represented by the precocious Avengers Queen
Brazen Beau claimed his first European stakes winner and a second overall as his daughter Avengers Queen toughed out the Listed Premio Mario E Vittorio Crespi at San Siro.
The juvenile has already recouped her purchase price, having been picked up for only £8,000 at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale.
Agostino Affe's representative, who pulled out all the stops to beat favourite Aisa Dream by three-quarters of a length, was bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud out of Showstoppa, a winning daughter of its star stallion Showcasing.
Avengers Queen had already beaten that same rival in a maiden in Rome at the start of last month as well as taking fifth in Listed company at the same track. She joins four other British juveniles on the stallion's honours board.
Brazen Beau, who is shuttling between Darley's Dalham Hall and Northwood Park in Victoria, has claimed Listed honours in Australia through Accession landing the Inglis Nursery at Randwick.
The grandson of Invincible Spirit through I Am Invincible was a champion sprinter in Australia as well as chasing home Undrafted in the 2015 Diamond Jubilee Stakes. He stands for £7,000 at Dalham Hall this year.
