French 1,000 Guineas runner-up Speak Of The Devil to be offered at Arqana
The daughter of Wootton Bassett is also a dual Listed winner
Dual Listed winner and last season's Poule d’Essai des Pouliches runner-up Speak Of The Devil will be offered on the first day of Arqana's Breeding Stock Sale in December.
The winner of her only start at two, she was beaten a nose in the French Classic by Dream And Do on her second start at three, when she had no luck in running.
Runner-up again in the Listed Prix Coronation, she then went on to take the Prix de Saint-Cyr -also at Listed level - the same year.
The daughter of Wootton Bassett won the Listed Prix de la Calonne this season and was also a fine third in the Prix Rothschild this summer behind Mother Earth, finishing in front of subsequent Prix de l’Opéra winner Rougir.
Speak Of The Devil was bred by Herve Viallon and sold from Trois Rivieres to Meridian International for €45,000 at Arqana's December Sale in 2017. She was picked up by Fabrice Chappet for €62,000 at the October Yearling Sale the following year.
She is the fifth foal out of the winning Indian Rocket mare Moranda and a half-sister to three winners including three-time Group 3 winner Morando. The four-year-old is also from the family of Group winners Myasun, Batwan and La Carolina.
The catalogue for the Arqana Breeding Stock Sale, which takes place from December 4-7, will be available online from Tuesday, November 2 at www.arqana.com.
