The ownership group behind Barraquero have decided to offer 30 free nominations for the young stallion ahead of the latest covering season.

A winner of the 2017 Richmond Stakes for Brian Meehan and Sam Sangster's Manton Thoroughbreds, the sharply-bred son of Zebedee has just spent his first year at Claremount Stud in County Clare.

Barraquero's advertised fee has been adjusted to €2,500 for 2021 and breeders can declare their interest either with Sangster or Claremount.

"On behalf of the owners we are offering 30 nominations to Barraquero free of charge," said Sangster.

"In the event the resultant foal or yearling realises over €10,000, we would charge a fee of 15 per cent of the sale price."

He added: "The impressive Richmond Stakes winner continues to be well supported by his owners as well as outside mares. We are very excited to see his first foals due any day now."
