Frankel filly from the family of Sole Power set for Newmarket debut
Ananda was a €525,000 purchase by Charlie Gordon-Watson from Arqana

A daughter of Frankel out of a Listed-placed half-sister to brilliant sprinter Sole Power is set to make her debut for John and Thady Gosden and Lady Bamford at Newmarket (1.25) on Friday.
The Zalim Bifov-bred Ananda was a six-figure purchase as a yearling when selling to Charlie Gordon-Watson for €525,000 from Monceaux at Arqana's August Yearling Sale last year.
She is the seventh foal out of Sotka, a daughter of Dutch Art who won on her third start at two over five furlongs and who was also second in a Vichy Listed event on her following start.
The now 13-year-old has produced five winners to date including Prix Sigy scorer Fas, who stands at Haras de Saint Vincent after five wins in a 23-race career, another French Group 3 scorer in Prix Bertrand de Tarragon winner Silva, plus minor winners Lev, Vlatka and Nine Tales.
Sotka is herself a half-sister to one of the most popular sprinters in recent times in Sole Power, an ultra durable and talented performer for Edward Lynam. The son of Kyllachy's career highlights included two Nunthorpe Stakes, two King's Stand Stakes and the Al Quoz Sprint from 12 wins and 14 placings overall.
The pair are also related to the brilliantly tough Cornus, who ran 159 times on the Flat for 15 wins overall and placings at Group 3 and Listed level, including when second in the Cornwallis Stakes.
Ananda is set to face ten rivals on her racecourse bow including Cheveley Park homebred Conservationist, a daughter of Muhaarar out of a Listed-winning half-sister to top-class sprinter Hello Youmzain; Lope De Vega filly Lose Yourself, out of a sister to Australian Group 2 scorer Sir Patrick Moore; Skallywag Bay, a Havana Grey half-sister to the Group-placed winner Tacarib Bay; and Canadiansmokeshow, a twice-raced U S Navy Flag half-sister to Del Mar Oaks winner Going Global.
The Best Bet With Jenningsbet British EBF Novice Stakes (2.35) includes the twice-raced Classic, a Newsells Park Stud-bred son of Dubawi out of the sole offspring of the great George Washington in Date With Destiny. He is a half-brother to Group 3 winner Beautiful Morning and sold to Peter and Ross Doyle for 260,000gns from Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
The colt's six rivals include newcomer Obelix, another with Newsells Park connections as he was bred by its owner Graham Smith-Bernal and sold to Stroud Coleman for €300,000 from Arqana's May Breeze-Up, having cost Kevin Philippart de Foy 200,000gns as a yearling from Book 1 when consigned by Oneliner Stables. He sold to Oneliner from Newsells for 170,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
He is out of an unplaced Dubawi half-sister to Italian Group 1 winners Jakkalberry, Crackerjack King and Awelmarduk.
