Lot 779 b f Gutaifan-Al Andalyya (Kingmambo)
Consigned by McCracken Farms

Best Solution was a leading three-year-old for Godolphin this year, winning the Lingfield Derby Trial and St Simon Stakes, and he had come close to securing a top-level success as a juvenile when runner-up to Waldgeist in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud.

His half-sister by Gutaifan - whose first-crop foals were in hot demand at Goffs last week - will be offered by McCracken Farms on Wednesday.

Gutaifan, a son of Dark Angel, won the Prix Robert Papin and Flying Childers Stakes at two and was extremely popular in his first season at stud covering a book of 207 mares.

The dam is the Kingmambo mare Al Andalyya and on her page are the St Leger winner Brian Boru and Derby and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hero Workforce.

It was at this sale three years ago that Best Solution was snapped up by Emerald Bloodstock for just 32,000gns. His half-sister is sure to fetch more.

Lot 858 ch c Teofilo-Artisia (Peintre Celebre)
Consigned by Drumachon Stud

This colt is a half-brother to the much-missed globetrotter Red Cadeaux, who was trained by Ed Dunlop to win seven races including the Hong Kong Vase and ran several times in the Melbourne Cup which included a runner-up finish in 2014 and 2013.

Out of the placed Peintre Celebre mare Artisia, he is a brother to the winners Amazing Red and White Desert and is from the family of Group 1 scorers Military Attack and Big Orange. The third dam is champion three-year-old Al Bahathri, the dam of Champion Stakes and 2,000 Guineas winner Haafhd.

The foal is by Kildangan Stud resident Teofilo, who has had a productive year headed by two new top-level scorers in Ajman Princess and Humidor.

Lot 886 b f Gleneagles-Sitara (Salse)
Consigned by Stringston Farm

The victory of Rekindling in this year’s Melbourne Cup has ensured the update for his half-sister, this filly by first-season sire Gleneagles, is one of the talking points in the Tattersalls catalogue.

Prior to the catalogue being published, Rekindling had won the Curragh Cup and the Ballysax Stakes.

It was at this sale three years ago that his breeders, the Pocock family, brought the future Group 1 winner to Park Paddocks and he was bought by Camas Park Stud for 60,000gns.

With a pedigree that also features the likes of Pongee, Chicquita, Alexandrova and Somehow, Rekindling's half-sister is sure to excite as a racing prospect with future broodmare appeal.

Lot 992 b f Dubawi-Swain’s Gold (Swain)
Consigned by Minster Stud

Willie Carson's star mare Swain's Gold was rewarded with an illustrious mating on the back of her son Jack Hobbs' victory in the Irish Derby in 2015, visiting Dubawi in the following season.

The resultant foal, a filly, has obvious appeal as a half-sister to the dual Group 1 scorer and to three other winners including the Group 3-placed Niceofyoutotellme.

Jack Hobbs himself is a graduate of Tattersalls, having sold for 60,000gns to Blandford Bloodstock at Book 2 of the October Yearling Sale. Expect this filly to sell for a fair bit more, especially as she is the only foal by Dubawi to be offered at Park Paddocks this year.

Lot 997 b c Dark Angel-Jessica's Dream (Desert Style)
Consigned by Crimbourne Bloodstock

Prix Jean Prat hero Havana Gold has made an encouraging start to his stallion career, having supplied a number of winners including the Group 3 scorers Havana Grey and Treasuring.

So this colt catches the eye, being a half-brother to the Tweenhills Farm and Stud resident and out of the Group 3-winning Desert Style mare Jessica's Dream.

He is by none other than Yeomanstown Stud's commercially white hot sire Dark Angel, who has nine lots catalogued to go under the hammer at Tattersalls this week.
