First-season sire Zelzal given a price boost as Haras de Bouquetot reveals fees
Al Wukair, Wooded, Toronado, Ectot, Romanised and Olympic Glory complete roster
Haras de Bouquetot has become the latest stud to reveal its fees for 2022, with promising first-season sire Zelzal and last year's Prix de l'Abbaye hero Wooded leading the way at €15,000 each.
Zelzal, a son of Sea The Stars whose career highlight came when winning the Prix Jean Prat, has sired ten individual winners from his first crop of runners, including Listed Prix Saraca scorer Zelda.
He stood this term for a fee of €6,000.
Wooded retired to Haras de Bouquetot after his neck victory over Glass Slippers at Longchamp and his fee will also remain unchanged for 2022. By Wootton Bassett, the four-year-old also won the Group 3 Prix Texanita and is a full-brother to the useful Beat Le Bon.
Another first-season sire in Al Wukair has been given a fee increase, this time to €8,000 from €6,000. The son of Dream Ahead, who is responsible for 11 individual winners so far, won the Prix Jacques Le Marois and was also third to Churchill in the Newmarket Guineas in 2017.
Established sire Toronado will remain on a fee of €8,000. The son of High Chaparral has proven a consistent source of high-class talent in both hemispheres with seven individual Group winners and 12 Listed scorers among 42 stakes performers.
The 11-year-old has sired two top-flight winners in this year's William Reid Stakes victor Masked Crusader and United Nations Stakes winner Tribhuvan, while other notable names include Tactical, Toro Strike and Still A Star.
Irish 2,000 Guineas hero and Prix Jacques le Marois victor Romanised will again stand for €7,000. The son of Holy Roman Emperor proved a top-class talent for Ken Condon and owner Robert Ng with five wins and seven placings to his name.
Ectot has seen his fee rise to €5,000 this year, having been responsible for the winners of six races to date. The winner of the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes and Criterium International, the son of Hurricane Run retired to the stud for the 2018 breeding season.
The roster is completed by Olympic Glory, the sire of this season's Prix Jean Romanet scorer Grand Glory as well as Coronation Stakes and Prix Rothschild victress Watch Me. The son of Choisir will stand for €4,000.
Shalaa, who sired his first Group 1 winner in Matron Stakes heroine No Speak Alexander this term, will remain at Arrowfield Stud in Australia this season
