Bolt D'Oro, the Grade 1 winner by Medaglia D'Oro, sired his first reported foal early on Friday morning when a filly was born at Forever Spring Farm in Kentucky.

Campaigned by Mick and Wendy Ruis, Bolt D'Oro joined the Spendthrift Farm roster at the end of his racing career. He began with three emphatic victories as a two-year-old, including back-to-back Grade 1s in the Del Mar Futurity and the FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita.

On his three-year-old debut, Bolt D’Oro won the Grade 2 San Felipe and also boasts placings in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and Santa Anita Derby. A $630,000 Saratoga Select yearling, he is out of the multiple graded stakes-producing AP Indy mare Globe Trot and hails from a top Claiborne Farm family.

Bred in partnership with River Oaks Farm, the bay filly is the first foal out of the Speightstown mare Moment of Speight, whose regularly graded-placed dam, Shimmering Moment, is a half-sister to two-time Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner Stormy Liberal.

"This filly has good substance and quality. She has lovely angles and is a very pretty filly," said Matt Jackson, farm manager of Forever Spring Farm. "We’re super excited to breed back to Bolt D'Oro."

The stallion covered 214 mares in his first season and will again stand for a fee of $25,000 in 2020.
