Final sale of the year at Goffs UK offers plenty of potential for purchasers

Goffs UK brings the curtain down on their 2021 sales season with the single session December Horses in Training Sale which features a mixture of Flat and National Hunt stock.

The highlight of the sale is the dispersal of 17 horses from Richard Gilbert's Straightline Bloodstock and the draft is a mix of well-bred unraced youngsters and proven track performers

One of the potential stars of the sale is Lot 87 Ain't No Sunshine, an unraced five-year-old full brother to Royal Bond Novices' Hurdle heroine Airlie Beach from the family of last season's David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle winner Black Tears.

Lot 42 is an unraced Shantou five-year-old gelding named White Rhino and is out of Aventia, a Bob Back full-sister to Tolworth Hurdle winner Thisthatandtother and a half-sister to top-class chaser Carlingford Lough.

Arthur's Seat, a four-year-old son of Champs Elysees, who has won two bumpers and has not finished out of the first three in six starts for Keith Dalgleish, is catalogued as Lot 88 while Dromahane four-year-old maiden point-to-point winner Kilbarry Leader is Lot 68.

Away from the Staightline Dispersal, there are a number of interesting prospects from both spheres.

The very first lot into the ring, Mutara, is an unraced two-year-old Muhaarar half-brother to Prix du Bois winner Little Kim as well as the stakes winner and Queen Mary second Out Of The Flames. Consigned by Tom Clover, he cost 52,000gns as a foal and his dam, the Marygate Stakes winner Primo Lady, has produced two black type winners from just four runners to date.

Mick Quinn's draft includes the winning three-year-old Pivotal colt Inver Park, a three-parts brother to the globe-trotting Group 1 winning sprinter Maarek. A supplementary entry (91) he holds an official rating of 78 and is also a grandson of the Firth of Clyde Stakes winner Ruby Rocket.

Around 75 horses are set to come under the hammer in Doncaster from 11am. The 2020 renewal recorded an 82 per cent clearance rate with small increases in both the average and median.
