Eyecatching newcomer James Garfield introduced at €7,000
The stud's stalwart sire Acclamation remains at €40,000
Rathbarry Stud has unveiled its 2019 covering fees, with the five-strong stallion roster again headed by Acclamation, sire of Breeders' Cup Mile hero Expert Eye, who will stand next year's covering season at an unchanged price of €40,000.
Expert Eye became the fifth top-level winner to be sired by the son of Royal Applause, following on from Aclaim, Dark Angel, Equiano and Marsha.
James Garfield joins the Rathbarry ranks for 2019, and the Mill Reef Stakes and Greenham Stakes winner has been priced up at €7,000. Given he is by Exceed And Excel, a stallion with a burgeoning reputation as a sire of sires, James Garfield seems certain to attract plenty of support.
Kodi Bear - whose first foals hit the market this year - has had his fee clipped in from €8,000 to €6,000 for this third year on covering duty, while freshman sire Moohaajim will also stand for a reduced fee of €3,000.
The roster is completed by the stud's elder statesman Tagula, who is pitched at €4,000 for the ninth consecutive year.
Fees for the stallions at the Cashman family's National Hunt operation Glenview Stud will be released in due course.
