Nathaniel, sire of the dual Arc heroine Enable, will stand for a career high fee of £25,000 in 2019, Newsells Park Stud announced on Monday.

The son of Galileo has been available for £20,000 during all but one of his six years at stud so far, when he stood for a reduced £17,500 in 2017.

It is the ascent of the Breeders' Cup scorer Enable to racing superstardom that has propelled Nathaniel's reputation as a stallion but he is far from being a one-trick pony.

A two-time Group 1 winner himself, Nathaniel has also been represented as a sire at the elite level by the Luca Cumani-trained God Given and has produced a total of 12 stakes winners overall.

Newsells Park Stud’s general manager, Julian Dollar, said: "Breeders’ Cup weekend was the final confirmation that Nathaniel is one of Europe's leading stallions.

"His daughter Enable secured her place as one of the great Champion racemares of all time - the first horse to win the Arc and the Breeders' Cup Turf in the same year, and a Group race winner on each of her last eight starts.

"On the same weekend, God Given became the second Group 1 winner from Nathaniel's first crop, landing the Premio Lydia Tesio over 10f. Like Enable, God Given has proved to be a remarkably consistent high-class performer, winning a further three Group races, a Listed race and placing in two more Group races.

"Enable and God Given are the two stars of Nathaniel's outstanding first crop. From his first two crops he has produced Group horses at a rate which puts him among the best sires in Europe and right behind Dubawi and Frankel among British based sires.

"His second crop has included the Group-winning fillies Pilaster and Highgarden and the Listed winners Amorella, Perfect Clarity and Sladina. His two-year-olds from his third crop are headed by the stakes-performing colts Nate The Great and Floating Artist, and includes several promising maidens winners."

Nathaniel will be joined once again at Newsells Park by fellow Group 1 sire Equiano, whose 2019 fee has been trimmed from £8,000 to £6,000.

Sire of the Group 1-winning sprinter The Tin Man, Equiano has produced a total of 13 stakes winners and his yearlings have averaged a shade below 26,000gns during his career to date.

Dollar said: "Equiano continues to be a consistent source of tough, high-class sprinters, with The Tin Man winning his third Group 1 race, Belvoir Bay having seven stakes wins to her name, and the Group 2-winning two-year-old Medicine Jack adding another stakes race to his form in 2018.

"Equiano has sired 23 Group/stakes winners and performers, eight in 2018, 17 of whom gained black type as a two-year-old.

"While hardly a day goes by without a winner by Equiano, we are keen to provide great value to breeders and maintain his books of on average 100 mares each season, so have taken the decision to decrease his fee to £6,000."
