Dubawi filly out of Just The Judge heads Arqana December catalogue
Well-bred Flat mares and Munir/Souede dispersal also of note
A Dubawi filly foal out of Classic heroine Just The Judge headlines the catalogue for next month's Arqana December Breeding-Stock Sale.
One of 328 weanlings in the auction, she will be presented by La Motteraye Consignment, who sent her year-older brother through the ring to top the Arqana August Yearling Sale at €1.4 million in the summer.
Other noteworthy foals due to sell in Deauville are a Frankel colt out of a Listed-winning sister to Diamond Jubilee Stakes third Restiadargent and a Kingman half-brother to Group 1-placed sprinter Goken, both offered by Haras de Colleville in part of a reduction of stud owner Guy Pariente's stock as he seeks to rationalise numbers.
Haras du Quesnay, meanwhile, offers a filly foal who hails from the second crop of US Triple Crown hero American Pharoah and is out of Group 3 winner and Prix de Diane fourth Desiree Clary.
Highlights among the 505 broodmares and 183 fillies on offer at Arqana are Sahel, a sister to Group 1 winners Salve Regina, Samum and Schiaparelli in foal to Gorden Horn, offered by the Wertheimer brothers; and Zerkeriya, a half-sister to Zarkava pregnant to Ulysses from the ever popular Aga Khan Studs draft.
The consignment of mares from Godolphin also contains many well-bred lots, headed by Cantiniere, a two-year-old daughter of War Front and the classy Galileo mare Up, and Dahlia's Spirit, a Dubawi half-sister to Strathspey.
The final session of the four-day sale is given over to National Hunt horses and this year it is likely to be lit up by mares from the dispersal of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede's breeding stock, conducted by Haras du Lieu des Champs.
There will be 28 mares among the draft, including Gitane Du Berlais and Une Artiste, both in foal to Martaline, as well as the smart Ma Filleule and Utopie Des Bordes.
The Arqana December Breeding-Stock Sale takes place from Saturday, December 8, to Tuesday, December 11, with all sessions starting at 10am GMT except for Sunday, when selling kicks off at 9am GMT.
