Dorothee finds herself in Wolverhampton
Full sister to Group 1 winner The Tin Man makes her debut on Monday
The cleverly-named Dorothee, a sister to triple Group 1-winning sprinter The Tin Man, makes her debut in a five furlong three-year-old maiden at Wolverhampton (4.46) today.
A three-year-old daughter of Equiano, Dorothee's family is very familiar to her trainer James Fanshawe who successfully guided the career both of her older full brother and their half-brother, the QIPCO British Champions' Sprint Stakes winner Deacon Blues. Fanshawe has also sent out two more half-siblings and a full sister to Dorothee to win from his Pegasus Stables.
Dorothee was bred, like her July Cup and Haydock Sprint Cup winning brother, by Elizabeth Grundy who races her in partnership with Hot To Trot Racing.
Their dam Persario won twice and has a perfect strike rate with her foals so far, producing eight winners from as many runners.
Persario is also the dam of the Listed Land O'Burns Fillies Stakes and Lansdowne Stakes second Holley Shiftwell by Bahamian Bounty.
She is a Bishop Of Cashel three-parts sister to Warningford, who won three renewals of the Group 3 Leicestershire Stakes and was placed in both the Lockinge and the Prix de la Foret.
There is a yearling full-brother to The Tin Man still to come and Persario visited Aclaim last spring.
Dorothee is the only newcomer in the field of eight and one of two runners by Equiano in the race. Dalby Forest has been placed on all three of his visits to Wolverhampton this year for David Simcock.
