Arqana's popular Arc Sale returns with a catalogue that includes a Classic runner-up in Deutsches Derby second Schwarzer Peter among a selection of high-class performers.

Held at Saint-Cloud racecourse after the opening day of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe meeting at Longchamp, the catalogue comprises 32 lots, including a number of promising three-year-olds.

Among them is Schwarzer Peter (lot 17), a son of Neatico who was a narrow second to Sammarco in the German Classic. The Markus Klug-trained colt has also placed a further two times in Group company this season. He was also Group 3-placed as a juvenile.

Fabrice Chappet will offer the lot before in recent Group 3 Prix Gerald de Geoffre winner Master Gatsby, a son of The Grey Gatsby who has won three of his nine starts, while another interesting three-year-old being offered is Making Moovies (45). The Dabirsim colt is a three-time winner and has also been stakes-placed four times in his career.

The older horses include Group 2 Grosser Hansa-Preis third Virginia Storm (23), a son of Soldier Hollow and a full-brother to this month's Grade 2 Flower Bowl Stakes winner Virginia Joy, and the Listed Prix Finlande scorer Nadette (34), a daughter of Outstrip from the family of Oaks and St Leger winner User Friendly.

Also among them is last season's Group 3 Prix de Quincey winner Dilawar (38).

The Aga Khan's homebred son of Dubawi has twice finished second in Group company this term, including when a head second to Sibila Spain in the Group 2 Prix du Muguet, while he was also fourth to Dreamloper in the Prix d'Ispahan.

In Crowd will be offered by Freddy Head as lot 47. Another son of Dubawi, the colt was a Listed winner at Nantes this summer and the George Strawbridge homebred is out of the brilliant producer In Clover. Her son is therefore a half-brother to Group 1 winners With You, Call The Wind and We Are among five black-type performers.

The auction will also offer a number of two-year-olds including Vichy Listed winner Hayejohn (2). By Johnny Barnes, the colt is currently rated 104 and is from the family of top-level winner Aqua D'Amore.
