Darley's first-season sire and Prix Ganay winner Cloth Of Stars was represented by his first winner when Kenmya struck in the opening race at Vichy on Monday morning.

The filly was bred by the Poirier family and was a €18,000 private sale from Haras de Clairefontaine at Arqana's October Yearling Sale last year. She carried the colours of Scuderia Il Fino to success in the seven-furlong claimer.

Kenmya is the first foal out of the winning Linda's Lad mare Wataany, a half-sister to Watayouna, a daughter of Siyouni who landed a Listed contest at Vichy for Francis-Henri Graffard and Ecurie Normandie in 2018.

Cloth Of Stars, who was among the top five Flat sires in France this breeding season, covering more than 100 mares, was bred by Peter Anastasiou and sold to John Ferguson for 400,000gns from Baroda and Colbinstown Studs at Tattersalls Book 1 in 2014.

Out of an unraced Kingmambo sister to Oaks heroine Light Shift, the dam of dual Group 1 hero and Cheveley Park's burgeoning young sire Ulysses, Cloth Of Stars was sent into training with Andre Fabre for Godolphin.

His two wins as a juvenile included an easy score in the Group 3 Prix des Chenes, while he was also second to Robin Of Navan in the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud. The colt won twice at three, including the Group 2 Prix Greffulhe and was third in the Grand Prix de Paris.

Cloth Of Stars came into his own as an older performer with three wins from his first three starts at four including a narrow defeat of Zarak in the Prix Ganay, while he was also second to the great Enable in the 2017 Arc before finishing up with another fine effort when third the following year.

He retired to Darley's Haras du Logis for an opening fee of €7,500 and has proven consistently popular in the following seasons. He stood this term at a fee of €7,000, unchanged from last year.
