Trappe Shot, a Grade 2 winner by Tapit who entered stud at Claiborne Farm in 2012, will be relocated to Atman Stud in Turkey for the 2020 breeding season.

The 12-year-old son of Tapit is the sire of Graded winners Explode, Fish Trappe Road, Hotshot Anna, Untrapped and Wild Shot, with his Grade 2-winning daughter Hotshot Anna setting a new track record over seven furlongs at Arlington last summer.

Bred in Florida by Hobeau Farm, Trappe Shot was purchased for a record $850,000 by agent Steve Young at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale in 2009.

Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin for owner Mill House LLC, Trappe Shot burst on to the scene as a three-year-old finishing second to Lookin At Lucky in the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational Stakes at Monmouth Park.

Trappe Shot continued to progress at four, winning the Grade 2 True North Handicap at Belmont Park and narrowly missing out on a first elite win when a nose second to Sean Avery in the Alfred G Vanderbilt Handicap at Saratoga.

He ended his racing career with six wins in 12 starts, and earned $703,884.
