A Churchill filly made impressive returns at Saturday's SGA Yearling Sale in Milan when bought by bloodstock agent Marco Bozzi for €200,000.

Part of what was a productive day for Razza Vedano, the daughter of winning Sakhee's Secret mare Rabiosa Fiore traces back to East Of The Moon and Miesque, the brilliant Niarchos family of Alpha Centauri and many others.

Closer up on the March-born filly (lot 28) already named Rinnovati's page is her half-sister Amalaura, winner of two Listed races this year, and another two-year-old sibling by Saxon Warrior, Rage Of Bamby, a graduate here 12 months ago for €35,000 who maintained his unbeaten record for Eve Johnson Houghton by winning at Leicester this week.

Vedano also provided another six-figure product in a Zoffany colt who reached €100,000.

The chestnut lot 15 offered by Razza Vedano is from the family of the brilliant Australian sprinting mare Alinghi and had a current interest in the shape of his half-brother Il Grande Gatsby, who was a Listed winner in Italy in the spring and later Group placed.

He is thought to be bound for the Endo Botti stable but was signed for under Miccione Gaetano.

The Zoffany was not the only mover on what looked an interesting catalogue for Italy's signature sale. Bozzi was successful in bidding €90,000 for a Sea The Stars colt (25) from the same consignor. He is out of the Listed-winning Duke Of Marmalade mare Orange Sun, who has produced several successful offspring already.

The top price exceeded that of the 2021 renewal and gave a healthy look to the figures. Before final calculations had been made, last year's aggregate of €1,777,000 looked likely to be usurped and the average was also tracking higher than 2021's €19,744.
