Catalogue for the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale now online
Initial entries include exciting point-to-point and bumper winners
The initial catalogue for the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale, which takes place after racing on the first day of the International meeting, has been released online and features 22 entries.
Denis Murphy sold last year's sale-topper Grangeclare West who fetched £430,000 when bought on behalf of Cheveley Park Stud. His first batch of entries include the promising mare Dontyawantme, a daughter of Getaway who was the debut winner of the four-year-old mares' maiden at Knockmullen House earlier this month.
The filly she dead-heated with for victory in that race is also included in the initial catalogue for the sale. Royale Dance, a daughter of Muhtathir, is consigned by James Doyle's Baltimore House Stables.
Ballycrystal Stables consigns two four-year-old maiden winners, and graduates of Matthew Flynn O'Connor's point-to-point academy include this year's Grade 1 Scilly Isles Novices' Chase winner Sporting John.
His draft consists of Sporting Mike, a four-year-old son of Walk In The Park, who won his maiden at Damma House earlier this month and is out of a half-sister to the Grade 2 Scottish Champion Hurdle winner In Contrast and High Class Hero who shares his sire Sulamani with the undefeated Honeysuckle.
Special Cadeau, a three-year-old son of 1,000 Guineas winner Speciosa, won a Huntingdon bumper on debut last weekend and trainer Pam Sly, who co-bred and co-owns the Nathaniel gelding has opted to enter him in the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale. He is a half-brother to the dam of Sly's Listed mares' bumper winner Eileendover.
Recent graduates of the sale include three Grade 1 winners from last season's Cheltenham Festival; Shishkin, Chantry House and Sir Gerhard.
Entries for the main catalogue close on Monday, 29 November but wildcards will be accepted up until the day of the sale.
