Brother to Sea Of Class set to debut in Tsui family's famous silks at Kempton

Amleto represents the same connections as his illustrious late older sibling

There is little holding back the Cheltenham Festival build-up tide already, but the British Flat season does not finish until Saturday and there are still any number of interesting newcomers catching the eye.

One such occurs at Kempton on Monday in the form of a full-brother to the oh-so-talented but ill-fated Sea Of Class.

Bred by Razza Del Velino out of prolific producer Holy Moon, and by Sea The Stars of course, Amleto is the two-year-old in question and fittingly he will make his debut in the mile maiden at 3.38 in the silks of the Tsui family’s Sunderland Holding, for the William Haggas yard.

His full-sister landed the Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks among four career victories and went down by a short neck to Enable in the 2018 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe when drawn unfavourably in 15 in the 19-runner field at Longchamp.

She was very sadly denied the chance to run more than once at four after colic put paid to her racing career, and then ultimately her life.

The dam has been a wonderful producer, with Amleto her 13th foal and he is a sibling to a plethora of other winners. Also having struck at the highest level have been Charity Line, by Manduro, and Final Score, by Dylan Thomas, while only this week her recent Irish Cesarewitch winner Waterville, by Camelot, topped day one of the Tattersalls HIT Sale at 410,000gns.

Amleto cost 240,000gns from last year’s Tattersalls December Yearling Sale, when consigned by Oak Lodge & Springfield House Stud.

He is one of 13 declared for the Kempton contest, the bar very much set by another son of Sea The Stars in Goffs Orby graduate Mr Buster, who was second to the impressive Liberty Lane at Nottingham on his debut a few weeks ago.

Other newcomers to note include Qatar Racing’s Lion Tamer, a son of the much-missed Roaring Lion and a half-brother to a couple of winners, Ballylinch Stud’s Leitrim Rock, the first foal out of Dansky, a half-sister to Wizz Kid, and John Deer’s homebred Caraxes, by his stallion Al Kazeem.
